Taught on-site at the Anglo-American School, these courses prepare High School students for the May 2nd and June 6th SAT Reasoning (SAT I) Tests. Non-AAS students are only admitted with the permission of AAS. Contact alebedeff@pericles.ru for more information.
This course is of particular interest to 11th-graders (Juniors) wishing to get a head start on their SATs, in order to concentrate more on their studies and extracurriculars in the 12th Grade. It is also very relevant to Seniors applying to later-deadline universities.
Scheduled in an “after-school” format, taught on Tuesdays and Thursdays (with Math on Fridays), this course offers a large amount of in-class practice. SAT strategies and tactics are taught intensively, but much of the benefit comes from reviewing problems completed during in-class practice test sessions. Therefore, to receive the full benefits of the course, frequent attendance is recommended. A minimum of four essay assignments will be completed as homework, then graded and commented by essay-writing experts.
The course teaches basic and advanced test-taking strategies, with an emphasis on understanding what the test writers expect. It begins with strategic overviews, then delves deeper into tactical approaches for each kind of problem type, and continues, through practice, into “polishing up” each student’s individual approach to the SAT. The course was developed by a UCLA Psychology graduate who has been teaching the SAT since 1989.
The cost of the course is 24,000 RUR, which includes all books and materials.
