Taught in English by fully qualified and trained Western professors. Includes a coursebook and on-line practice tests and materials.

48 clock (64 academic) hrs of instruction, including 12 hours of practice exams and review

The TOEFL iBT Exam is the preferred English test worldwide for students wishing to study in universities, business schools (MBA) and law schools (LL.M.) where the programs are taught in English.  (This exam is usually NOT required if you have already obtained a degree from a university where English was the language of instruction or if you graduated from school in an English speaking country.)  Exam results are valid for two years.

This preparation course is an intensive review for the TOEFL iBT exam (which can be taken as the TOEFL-iBT home edition in Russia, or in test centers abroad).  The course is bi-modal, meaning that students who are present in Moscow can attend in person (optimal) and others can attend synchronously online. This is NOT an asynchronous, online course. Students can expect regular interactive practice with the professors.  However, considerable online material for home practice is also included. The course book and online materials are designed to especially concentrate on problems encountered by Russian and Slavic language speakers, although all material is in English, and the language of instruction is English.  Many non-Russians have taken this course also.

The course reviews in detail the listening, reading, writing and speaking sections tested on the TOEFL iBT exam.  Your professors will evaluate multiple live and recorded speaking exercises to help you master the difficult spoken response questions.  You will improve your speaking section answer delivery, vocabulary, and accent.  The course teaches you the listening memorization, note taking, and speed-reading techniques that are proven to raise scores on the listening and reading sections.  Finally, the course teaches essay writing formulas and provides templates that have proven successful.  8-10 essays are individually corrected

Classes are recorded so you can listen again at home for up to six weeks after the course ends.  You may repeat classes in future semesters as desired, with partially different content, to provide 96 or more academic hours.  You are strongly encouraged to spend considerable time on homework assignments and software exercises for maximum effect.

Pre-requisites:  The course is geared to advanced students of English who want to score 100 or above on the TOEFL iBT exam.  Even students who enter the course with very high levels of English improve their scores considerably.  Professors may advise students whose English levels are below the level of other students in the course to continue to listen in class but to take additional English training and to repeat the TOEFL course free of charge at a later date.
