The beginning of each month is usually one of the
toughest moments for us, as we scramble to choose our Student of the
Month from a pool of incredibly talented and---each in his own way---unique
young men and women. In that respect, March was no exception. Our decision
to choose Julia was based not solely on her quite remarkable GMAT score,
but also on her career achievements, which clearly demonstrate the ambitions
and numerous talents she harbors.
Julia has a Ph.D. in sociology earned in 1996 at the
University of Pennsylvania. Since then, she has heavily invested herself
in the consulting business with such world-class names as PriceWaterhouseCoopers,
where she led the Organization and Change Practice in such industries
as oil, gas, banking and insurance.
Her interest shifted after a while towards the media
industry, and she joined FourMedia, a Russian media holding that operates
several TV and radio stations in the country. Julia says she wants to
take time in the near future to "patch some holes" in her
business education at one of the top b-schools and "move straight
into a large media corporations."
We have no doubt Julia will more than fulfill these
educational and career goals thanks to her intelligence, hard work and
resilience. With a GMAT scored of 700 after preparing here with Pericles,
it is hard to think of a better start towards conquering these new heights
Julia has set for herself.
It is the more remarkable that Julia has been able
to accomplish so much despite the fact that she is a mother and has
to find time for her family. who ever said for a woman a successful
career was incompatible with family? Julia is pictured here with her
adorable kid.
